More and more people are striving to arrange their plots of land in such a way that they are aesthetically pleasing.
Flower beds play an important role in the decoration of the plot, including rambatas and mixboards.

Rabbatki (translated from German, this word means “bed”) are not wide long beds, mostly having a rectangular shape, width of 0.5 to 2.0 metres and unlimited length.

The peculiarity of these flowerbeds is that planting plants in them are made according to strict geometric patterns.

In contrast to mixboarders, growing in a free order, rabatki have a solemn parade look.

This effect is achieved by the neat geometry of repeating patterns, the brightness of colours of continuously blooming plants.

Tulips and daffodils

Landscape designers use rambatas to decorate border zones along fences, foundations of buildings and hedges, to decorate garden paths.
Sometimes they are placed in the middle of large lawns, which makes them more decorative and adds variety to the green background.
With the help of rambatas do zoning sites, for example, separate the recreation area for adults from the children’s corner.

Usually, annual lushly flowering plants are used in rambatas.
For low tiers are perfect for violets, daisies, forget-me-nots, velveteen.
Often planted godezia, salvia, ageratum. kokhia.
The use of annuals makes it possible to change planting schemes every year.

Often use early-flowering bulbous plants – tulips, crocuses, daffodils, snowdrops. However, the flowering period of them is short and therefore they have to be dug up and planted in the vacated space of other flowers.

For higher tiers you can use irises, chrysanthemums phlox, lupines, lilies, dahlias, dahlias.
Of conifers are often used various types of low junipers.
In the shade and semi-shade are often planted hostas of various varieties.

The first step in the creation of a rambatka will be the choice of its location and the definition of the size.
The length and width of the flower bed will depend on the area of the whole plot.
Experts recommend that you first draw a plan of the flower bed on paper.
To think through the scheme of planting plants, their types and colours.

At the next stage, make a marking directly on the ground, using pegs and rope.
Then the bed should be dug, carefully removing the roots of weeds.

After that, remove a 15-centimeter layer of soil and mix it with peat and sand, adding over-ripened humus with mineral fertilizers. The prepared nutrient mixture is poured into the future flower bed, levelled and watered.

The borders of the ridge can be lined with stones, bricks, concrete or plastic kerb elements.
This will give the flower bed completeness.
The earth is given some time to shrink, and only then do the marking of plantings according to the scheme.
It is worth avoiding too dense placement of planting material, it is necessary to leave small bushes of seedlings room for growth.

Care for plantings consists of watering, weeding, feeding, removal of flowering buds.
If all activities are carried out in a timely manner, the rabatka will retain its decorative value throughout the season.
